Director of EduYouth
Eddie Fang
Eddie is a Junior in the IB program at Richard Montgomery Highschool. He’s been a tutor for Chinese immigrant students since middle school, while also teaching classes for both programming and leadership. He has also involved himself in math competitions since 6th grade, participating in various math competitions, even qualifying for the American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME). He is also a member of the RM robotics team “RM’d and Dangerous” as their programmer, and spends his free time practicing his programming. He has been taught Scratch and Algebra and math Competition class at Educonnects since the summer 2020.

Angelina Xu
Angelina Xu is an eighth-grader at Roberto Clemente Middle School in the Math and Science program. For high school, she will be going to the IB Program at Richard Montgomery High School. She took the CogAT (Cognitive Abilities Test) in eighth grade as an entrance exam into Montgomery County’s magnet programs. The CogAT test includes sections that are similar to the Raven Progressive Matrices. She has taken AMC 10 and participated in the regional Science Olympiad competition. She is a two-time national finalist in eCYBERMISSION, a STEM competition organized by the US Army.

Emma Zou
Emma Zou is attending Poolesville High School as part of the Global Ecology Program. Emma took the CoGAT as an entrance exam for MCPS magnet programs and was accepted into all four programs with top scores. In seventh grade, she participated in the National History Day contest, won district-wide, and advanced to the state level. She was also involved in her middle school newspaper as both a writer and a comic creator. Emma enjoys playing piano and viola and has won several prizes in various competitions. But most of all, she loves writing! Her hobbies include writing short stories and she is currently working on longer novel projects. Her dream is to pass on her own passion for writing and the arts, to the students, she teaches.

Andy Deng
Andy is a rising Sophomore in the Richard Montgomery IB Program. He actively teaches as a youth ESL teacher starting in 6th Grade and tutored many students. He was also a teacher at his local summer camp and taught Experimental Science and Public Speaking. As an active debater on the national circuit, Andy competes regularly in National Speech and Debate Association tournaments. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis and the clarinet

Catherine Nan
Catherine is a rising sophomore at Winston Churchill High School this upcoming year and has debated for the past 4 years. She was a quarterfinalist in the 2020 Duke Invitational for Varsity Public Forum and a semifinalist in the 2020 Yale University Invitational for Junior Varsity Public Forum. Catherine has also volunteered at many different youth programs and was a tutor for students in K-6th grade. Outside of debate, Catherine enjoys playing the flute and spending time with her friends.

Alex Young
Arth Kataria is currently a sophomore at Northwest HS. He is enrolled in Ulysses signature that encourages students to explore research and create a technology-infused presentation in areas of strong interest. Arth graduated from the Parkland Magnet Middle School for Aerospace Technology with one college tech college credit and two high school credits. He is also a Flight Sergeant at the Upper Montgomery Composite squadron for Civil Air Patrol. He was a member of the Northwest Jagbots FRC team. Currently, he is a member of the Math Honors Society and volunteers as a math tutor. His final goal is to pursue a degree in either Aeronautical or Aerospace engineer.
